Why Street Signs?

Good Signage is an important part of every retail store. It must be both informational and educational. Clear consistent signage helps your customer find their way, save your employee labor and enhances the store image. Street signs are part of the overall signage needs.

Our street signs are made of poly vinyl chloride plastic. This is the white blank background that forms the letters.

The color is eight year vinyl. Primarily used for lettering trucks it very durable for outdoor use under all weather conditions. The letters and arrows are cut on a computer driven cutting system, and then glued to the plastic blank. All street signs are two sided.

Street signs sold over the last six years have held up beautifully in garden centers. The only damage we are aware of has been physical damage caused by extremely high wind conditions, tipping over the movable containers or bending overloaded bracket.

All street signs are custom done. They can say whatever you need as long as it fits on the sign. A good guideline is fourteen letters.

Sizes

We carry two standard sizes

  • SP16 – 4"high x 16" long
  • SP24 – 6" high x 24" long

Since we introduced the larger version two years ago over 85% of our signs sold are the larger unit. It can be seen better at the longer distances normal in garden centers. Custom sizes are available and quoted where desired. 8" x 36" and 12" x 48" have been supplied.

We developed the directional finger sign to point the way. It is the same cost as the large standard sign. See photo.

Arrows can be added to standard signs as space allows or you can use a small sign as an arrow under a large sign if you want it to be very conspicuous. See photo

Colors

Colors

We carry vinyl inventory in six colors. Forrest or hunter green is our best seller as it fits the garden center environment so well. It is important that you standardize as much as possible your garden center signage color to enhance your over all image. Pick a color and go with it. We do quote other colors if a significant volume of signage is desirable. It takes longer and we have to buy a certain quantity to get the vinyl.

Brackets

We carry two bracket sizes.

  • BP16 – is used for the small street sign and the finger sign. The bracket is 18" long and the S hooks are spaced 12" apart.
  • BP24 – is used for the large street sign. The bracket is 24" long and the S hooks are spaced at 18" apart.

If the brackets are to be used to hold banners the grommets on the banners need to be lined up with the S hooks and the holes spaced 3" in from each side of the banner.

Banners maybe 18" or 24" wide but can be any length up to36" if a second bracket is used to hold the bottom.

Posts

Brackets and signs can be mounted to the any surface. We supply 3x3 laminated cedar posts (kiln dried and laminated to prevent warping) to mount in moveable cedar boxes.

Our standard code P8 is 8' tall. We also offer a 6' P6 version and a larger 4x4 by 9' high post P9. The 3x3 posts are sealed with Cabot Deck Stain #3852

Boxes & Containers and Mobility

We offer three sizes of cedar cube planters. Our standard is an 18" cube code D18P8. The planters are sealed with Cabot 3852 deck stain to help against weathering. Each box has a post support system built in. Once the post is installed and the signage attached the planter can be filled with sand, stone, or soil. The windier the conditions in your center the more weight needed. The entire until can be transported with a tree mover, fork lift or hand cart. As your garden center shrinks or grows seasonally the signs can be moved.

  • D16P8 – 16" Cube Planter
  • D24P8 – 24" Cube Planter – much heavier construction and very durable.
